Nature Explorers Day Camp Week 1 (Ages 6-8)
, HarrisburgChildren ages 6 to 8 will learn about animal adaptations, explore aquatic life in Paxton Creek and enjoy a live animal presentation. Each day will focus on a new, fun topic about our local plants and animals and include nature themed activities and crafts. Please register for only one week. Registration limited to 20 campers. -

Introduction to Kayaking on the Swatara Creek – Adventure Awaits
This adventurous wellness program is geared for those interested in learning how to kayak. Enjoy approximately six miles of easy paddling for approximately two hours on the normally gentle, tree lined Swatara Creek. This guided two-hour evening paddle will let you discover firsthand why many are getting involved in this healthy life-long hobby. Guides will provide kayak skill instruction before and during the trip. Participants should be in moderate physical condition and prepared to be physically active. Everything is provided including kayaks, equipment, shuttle, guides, and safety instruction. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Participants must be at least 6 years of age to participate. Participants between ages 6-9 years old must be in a 2-person kayak with a responsible adult. A parent or other responsible adult must participate in the program. No one under the age of 18 can participate without a participating parent, adult family member, or guardian. Adventure Awaits programs are supported by Visit Hershey & Harrisburg Adventure Trail. -
Sunset Music & Movie Series – Theatre Harrisburg Presents100 Years of Broadway
Join us for a FREE concert at Fort Hunter Park - Theatre Harrisburg Presents 100 Years of Broadway! Pack a picnic basket (or purchase from our food concessions), bring your blankets and your lawn chairs, and enjoy an evening of family fun! In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made around lunchtime on Friday whether the movie will proceed. If necessary, the rain date would be Sunday, July 20, 2025. -
Creature Feature: Snapping Turtles (Ages 4-6)
Oh snap! Did you know one of the largest freshwater turtles in North America lives right here in Wildwood Park? Join a Naturalist to discover its amazing adaptations, read and sing about turtles, do a craft and short nature hike. Registrants must be accompanied by a chaperone for the duration of the program; a maximum of one chaperone per child. Space is limited. Pre-registration required. -

Introduction to Tai Chi
Join us to experience Tai Chi! This program is being offered in partnership with the Chinese Cultural & Arts Institute and will be taught by instructor Chen-Yu Tsuei. Tai chi has been practiced in China for centuries as a means of improving the flow of energy within the body, and also as a martial art. Tai chi is an exercise/movement and breathing system that exercises all the joints and major muscle groups while circulating the "Qi" (氣), the internal energy. A Park Rx wellness program sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield. Pre-registration is required to participate in this program. Space is limited. -
Meditation: Discovering Your True Inner Power – Park Rx
We can't control the world, but we can control how we choose to focus. This program will teach the basics of meditation with a focus on discovering your true inner power. Pre-registration is required, space is limited. -
Pound the Colors of Wildwood into Cloth
Design a unique 18” x 18” cotton pillow cover using flowers and leaves from Wildwood Park. Natural Dyer Carol Reed will lead participants on a short walk to forage plant material at the Park before returning to the Olewine Pavilion where participants can choose from additional flowers and herbs from her garden.
