PSE Master Gardners’ Home Gardening Series: Soil Testing Demystified
Understanding your soil is the foundation of every healthy garden. Join Penn State Master Gardener Kevin Kelly for a practical and engaging look at how to test your soil, interpret the results, and make improvements that support thriving plants. This program begins with an introduction to soil science and the vital roles of macro- and micronutrients, then explains how and when to test your soil for the best results. Kevin will also guide you through reading soil test reports—what the numbers really mean—and how to make informed decisions that lead to a healthier, more productive garden. Preregistration is required. -
Beginner Friendly Watercolor Class
, HarrisburgPlease join the Friends of Wildwood for their first ever Beginner Watercolor Class, directed by Summer Malpass from Key on Paper. Summer will lead participants through the creation a dragonfly-themed painting! All experience levels are welcome, and all materials will be provided. Come with your family, your friends or your significant other. You will surely have fun while here and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece. Workshop limited to 30 participants. Birds & Coffee with Appalachian Audubon
Stop by the Nature Center Bird Viewing Area for a warm cup of bird- friendly coffee, tea or hot cocoa with Appalachian Audubon Society. Discover what birds visit our feeders most often and learn how to identify each one. On the second Saturday from November - April, join us in observing and counting common feeder birds as part of Project FeederWatch. This is the final Birds & Coffee event for the 2025-2026 season. Join a Naturalist for a leisurely walk around Fort Hunter Park & Mansion. Learn one method for aging a live tree and some historical facts about these large giants. Participants will also view the Liberty Tree that was planted as a part of our nations 250th birthday. -
