Aetna Helps Students Discover Nature at Wildwood

Apr 9, 2024

Today, in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Wildwood Park’s Olewine Nature Center, Aetna gave $3,000 to Wildwood Park’s education programs. This partnership will allow Wildwood Park to give the gift of outdoor education to schools in Dauphin County this year. The first school to be chosen for this honor was Melrose Elementary School from the Harrisburg Area School District. The Sustainability Coordinator from the City of Harrisburg Parks & Recreation Department has been working with students from Melrose to prepare them for their field trip today. It’s community partnerships like this that make us proud!

Each student received a healthy snack at the start of their day, an awesome day of outdoor education, and wellness backpacks filled with great information on how to live a healthy lifestyle at home.
