The Dauphin County Bureau of Registration and Elections will hold office hours at the Northern Dauphin Human Services Center (NDHSC) to better serve those residents from the northern end of the county seeking to be candidates in the 2023 municipal election cycle.

The Human Services Center is at 295 State Dr., Elizabethville, across from Walmart.

Elections staff will be available Feb. 10 (from 4-7 p.m.) and Feb. 11 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) and March 3 (4-7 p.m.) and March 4 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.).

The 2023 petition process is the first step for individuals to have their names appear as candidates for either the Democratic or Republican party nominations during the Municipal Primary, which will be held May 16.  Those who win their party nomination will have their names appear on the Municipal Election ballot, which will be held Nov. 7.

Complete petition packets will be available by Feb. 7 for review and download at the Dauphin County website (www.dauphincounty.gov > Registration and Elections).

The Bureau also will have voter registration applications and absentee/mail-in ballot applications available.

Candidates can circulate petitions starting Tuesday, Feb. 14, and all petitions and accompanying materials must be submitted to the Bureau of Registration and Elections no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7; postmarks will not be accepted. If a candidate’s petitions are not completed properly, the submissions could be rejected. Sometimes it is better to be able to ask those questions face to face rather than calling the office or sending an e-mail requesting information.

For a complete listing of offices to appear on the ballot that are required to file with the Dauphin County Bureau of Registration and Election, go to the County’s website (www.dauphincounty.gov > Registration and Elections).
