Discover the diversity of Pennsylvania’s plants, animals and habitats while using Growing UP WILD. Growing UP WILD is an award-winning early childhood education program that offers a wide range of activities and experiences that foster lifelong social and academic skills while exploring the natural world. Including activities such as Hiding in Plain Sight, Lunch for a Bear and Who Lives in A Tree?, the Growing up WILD guide features 27 hands-on activities that integrate environmental and biological concepts with art, music and movement, math, reading and outdoor exploration. Each activity also includes a “healthy me” and “home connection” extension and is correlated to Head Start Outcomes, NAEYC Accreditation Criteria and PA Early Childhood Standards.

This workshop is for all formal and non-formal educators, scout/program/camp leaders who work with children ages 3 to 7 and are interested in the environment. All participants will receive the Growing UP WILD Activity guide. Act 48 is provided to PA certified teachers. A simple afternoon snack will be provided.

Growing UP WILD is part of the Project WILD program and uses science-based, developmentally appropriate activities to address wildlife, people and the environment. In Pennsylvania, the Project WILD program is sponsored by DCNR, Bureau of State Parks. Pre-registration required.
