Seasonal Garden Walks
Join Master Gardener Kevin Kelly for a guided walk through the Nature Center’s Garden Beds. Each walk will highlight what’s in bloom, along with shrubs, foliage, structure and other seasonal features that give the garden interest and support wildlife. With a strong native-plant focus, this walk offers a deeper look at how the landscape changes-and why those changes matter. Meet in front of the Olewine Nature Center. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. -

First half describes radiological basics and provides examples of survey equipment that detect radiation. The second half of the day will be spent performing hands on skills utilizing detection equipment. It is highly recommended that attendees bring issued equipment to gain more familiarity and comfort in the use of the detection platforms -

CTOS Course (Day 2)
, SteeltonCourse Description: This one-day training course is designed for Emergency Medical Services and Medical Health Care providers who have awareness level training on radiological/nuclear emergency response. This course will provide further understanding into the EMS response component to radiological/nuclear accidents and Radiological/Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) incidents. The course will continue to prepare providers with additional response knowledge related to radiological/nuclear threats, protective measures for both patient and care giver, and basic post incident recovery processes -

, SteeltonCourse Description: This one-day course prepares emergency responders and nonuniformed support personnel to operate monitoring stations within the Community Reception Center (CRC), or similar reception center in order to perform population monitoring and contamination reduction measures after a radiological or nuclear incident. -
