Dauphin County to Host Proudly PA! Festival on June 8, Featuring Hershey’s very own The Ocean Blue

Jun 5, 2024

Everyone is invited to enjoy a beautiful day along the Susquehanna River at Proudly PA!, presented by the Dauphin County Commissioners and M&T Bank, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 at historic Fort Hunter Park in Harrisburg.

“This event is a great way to celebrate all things Pennsylvania,” said Commissioner Mike Pries, who oversees the county’s Parks and Recreation Department. “We reinvented this outdoor festival four years ago to offer quality entertainment and highlight the fantastic wineries, breweries, and distilleries in Pennsylvania. This event also boosts tourism and enhances the quality of life in this region.”

Presented in partnership with Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame and The River 97.3, the festival will feature four bands and two singer-songwriters who got their start right here in Pennsylvania. Alternative rock band The Ocean Blue will headline the event. They started their band in the late 80s in Hershey, PA, and released their self-titled album debut on the famed Sire Records. The band quickly made their mark at the onset of the Alternative/Modern music scene and recorded eight albums and several EPs. Local greats Dandy, Blitz Dynette, and The Jellybricks will open on the M&T Bank Stage. Local singer-songwriters Addi Grace and Willeby Hayes will also perform.

Wine, craft beer, and distilled spirits will also be showcased from across the state. This year’s vendors include Barley Creek Brewing Company, Big Bottom Brewery, Castlerrigg Wine Bar featuring Seven Mountains Wine Cellars, Cold Spring Hollow Distillery, Englewood Brewing, Essiem’s Apiary, Glasshouse WineworksHolla Spirits, J&P Winery & Vineyard, Maggies Farm Rum, Mark & Val Wines, Midstate Distillery, SpringGate, University Wine Company, and Shy Bear Brewing. This outdoor festival will also feature a host of craft and food vendors from PA.

“This event kicks off our summer season, which includes the free Sunset Music and Movie nights in the park and other outdoor music festivals,” said Commissioner Justin Douglas.

Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket, and a picnic basket. The festival will be held rain or shine. No outside alcohol is permitted. Free beverage glasses will be offered to the first 2,000 people through the gates.

Advance ticket sales are $30, and admission is $40 at the gate. Children ages 12 and under are free of charge.  Tickets may be purchased online at https://bit.ly/ProudlyPA_2024 or in person at the Dauphin County Parks and Recreation office at Fort Hunter Park.

“We’re ushering in summer with this and other top-notch entertainment,” said Commissioner George P. Hartwick, III, Chairman of the Board. “Our events bring together people of all ages and backgrounds, and we’re deeply appreciative of the many generous sponsors and community partners for making these events possible.”
