We’ve partnered with the Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA) to provide you with some time on their farm having fun and learning to care for miniature horses!

A unique opportunity to connect with miniature horses while learning essential skills. Open to children, teens, and adults, participants 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session.

In these lessons, you'll delve into the fundamentals of horse care, including grooming, the proper use of halters and leads, and safe leading techniques. More than just handling horses, this program fosters personal growth and development through the special bond between humans and animals.

Participants will gain valuable life skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, teamwork, clear communication, and leadership. These lessons are also an excellent way to build trust, boost self-esteem, and focus on personal goals, all while discovering strengths and managing emotions like frustration and anger.

Adult/Child Pair - Children 5-13 years of age will register to be paid with a parent or guardian sharing one miniature horse together for one registration fee of $24.

Individuals – Adults and Children 14 & older can participate without a parent; however. We will require everyone under 18 years of age to still have a parent or responsible adult onsite during the program time. $24 per individual participant.

A liability waiver is required to participate in this program. Pre-registration is required. Space is extremely limited. Adventure Awaits programs are sponsored by UPMC and supported by Visit Hershey & Harrisburg Adventure Trails.
