Walk with a Doc – Park Rx
Five Senses Garden Free
Join us for a moderately paced walk around Wildwood Park in Harrisburg. The walk will be led by a local healthcare provider and will focus on men’s health and prostrate health. Meet-up will be at the Five Senses Garden entrance. There is trailhead parking at PA-441 (S 28th Street at Dauphin Manor Dr), which is across the street from the District Justice and across the street from The Five Senses Gardens. A handicapped parking area and access ramp are located behind the McDonald's restaurant, accessible from Paxton Street. Participants should park in these lots and walk over using the safety crossing. The walk will be on a variety of surfaces and may include some slight inclines. It will be an out-and-back walk so participants can customize the length of the walk based on their individual goals.
This Walk with a Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk. This is a FREE walk, but we ask that you pre-register. This walk is appropriate for all ages and children are welcome to attend but should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Dogs are welcome if they are on a leash. A Park Rx wellness program sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield and supported by Penn State Health with program coordination by Susquehanna Township Parks and Recreation, Capital Area Greenbelt Association and Dauphin County Parks & Recreation.
