Master Gardener Walk & Talk
Sunday, August 25 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Capital Area Greenbelt – Martin Luther King, Jr. Garden Free
This program takes place on the Anniversary of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous "I Have A Dream" speech.
Think about Dr. King's crusades to achieve social justice with a walk in this memorial garden led by Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Dauphin County. Learn about the native plants in the surrounding gardens chosen for their environmental benefits and the history of the memorial garden.
The predominant feature of the memorial site is the eleven-foot, jet-black granite obelisk in the center of the memorial garden. You’ll notice six granite slabs on each side of the entrance leading to the obelisk with the names of Dr. King’s twelve historic crusades.
Location: Capital Area Greenbelt Cameron Parkway East. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Garden is located between 19th & 28th streets. Parking is at the 19th Street parking lot of the Greenbelt.
The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial reminds us of Dr.King’s vision for a just America for everyone.
